What seems to stand out most( not in the picture) is the absence of the INDEX put buying.
Obviously enough, one thing constantly lingering in our minds was our ANTIDOLLAR outlook and that should have put , who desired so, into the ANTIDOLLAR investments and make nice money( I did buy some GOLD and adjusted Asset Allocations as well). For the most of us, though , we know all too well, that when ANTIDOLLAR sentiment is too strong then Stock market suffers, even as it is one of the chief ANTIDOLLARS itself, but it likes slow decay of the BUCK not the FAST ONE... HMMMM...

In my opinion, there have been few times in history when "CAPITAL PRESERVATION" was as paramount as it is now Dear JOhn.
With InfLIEtion the way it is, you do not only need to make money, you need to beat the infLIEtion and that is hard enough. If one starts losing. God Forbid, the task becomes even harder.

yes- change the rules.
capitalism and open market is nice when you can steal the wealth from the others, now when the others return war you change the rules by legislation. Soon there will be no more futures trading (you should not be supprised after the anti-capitalism-act named bear sterns)
History lessons in the futures will teach about a Big nation that lose to its own greed.

You are correct regarding the free markets.
Unfortunately USA and world , especially after CENTRAL BANKERS took over , are anything but free. They are maniplated worst than Moddle East SHOUK/SOUKOK's ever were manipulated.
FIAT is the kind in all countries and even the COMMUNISTS ( tacit SOPITALISTS) do not have anything to hide any more. Anything goes, especially that the BIG ELEPHANT USA is in the middle of the circle DROPPING DOLLARS from the Air..
FREE MARKETS? I remember free markets when I was a kid and my GranDpa Butcher By profession would take me to the BAZAAR to buy few goats and cows to kill.
SInce I left the that env... LONG TIME AGO(:- , I do not think that I have seen a free market.
WEST is rotten to the core and so is the EAST ( always has been). DUe to everything being taken over by big business there is no market.
ANything that is payed for by SOPITALISTS to SOPITALISTS goes.
That is the business today.
Yes one of these days, people will wake up and demand accountability of the delapidated SOPITALISM(COMMUNITSS+CAPITALISTS all toghether) and then something might change...
At least for a while.
