Dear Boris
good evening (night).
what are the chances to see a down move during May 12-13 ? we have the retail sales report at May 13 and it might be bad.
as per the trade balalnce report from today, I think the world should start to worry - America imports less (especially from Chaina)
Thanks
Sharon
Dear Sharon,
We/I have learned not discount anything, but when the MDircotorS says NORTH we look North. And when it says SOUTH we look south.
SImpler than speculating...
Good Traidng
OK OK
we wont argue with the Making-Dollars-Shepherd :-)
Sharon
Dear Sharon,
No argument... at all.
I like your question, especially the IMPORT/EXPORT part.
I agree.
The only think is Market cannot be traded on fundamentals.
Unfortunately...

"The only think is Market cannot be traded on fundamentals."
I agree x100.
Dear Sang,

Hi Boris,
Dumped shorts. Looking to enter longs. Viva la MDS.
Dear Hopper,
Sorry to hear that you got this a bit late. Trading world sleeps no more. No wonder Banks have trading crews to trade 24 hours around the globe.
Good Trading
Dear Gorli,
I am sorry, I was sure I placed the comments of this stock in the previous post, but it is not there... Ha...
Ok here it is.
This stock has 2,3,4,5 AAPs at 3, 3.78 , 5 and 7
Now the stock seems to have this rocket move up every two years, is it time again?
It is currently at the second AAP and could go to higher APs.
It is ranked -.07 on the SHAKERS for NASDAQ ( 63rd rank on NASD). SO, it is in the infancy of the move , if it is indeed going to rocket. I would love to see it go above 3 and retrace 10-15% for an entry...
GOod Trading and Thanks for your question.
Dear Boris,
If we get a million Dollar monay, Dow up 1-2% and Ndx up 2-3%. Will MDS produce/ make a sell signal then?
Thanks,
Howard
Hi Boris/All,
oscillators file updated.
Good trading, Ivan
Hi howard,
from my experiance of using Boris' MDS, it's not so easy to predict signals. In SPX, moves between buy/sell signal can be very different, even 90 points. So, I think, the strategy is to use MDS formula for scaling, and wait a signal change.
I hope, this could help.
Regards, Ivan
Dear Howard,
It is indeed very difficult to predict What the MDS will do. Sometimes market makes a big move up and MDS does not react. Sometimes it makes a smaller move and it reacts.
In general though it is contrary to the market move. But this thinking got me in trouble couple times.
Best thing is to check and then act.
Good Trading
Dear Ivan,
Thanks for your comments to howard and update of oscillators
GOod Trading
Thank you both,
Since the MDS signal was so close to zero...I was just thinking that could be posible.
As usual, we have to wait for the signal,
Thanks,
Howard
I waited for someone to write about the latest BS economic news.
This was published today in Yahoo :
Good economic news something of a mirage - "Many economists -- and members of the public -- believe the economy is in a recession. Bernanke has said a recession is possible, while President Bush acknowledges the country is going through tough times"

Dear Sharon,
Thanks for sharing this with our Readers
Good Trading
Boris and all
For what its worth Im not getting any buy signal from any of this yet
Doent look as tho this is finished here so I will wait and see. The only thing positive for the market is the 5 Days of trin getting a little high here.
Ill Just hang onto DUG for now
Boris, GENZ i own puts. ill be signing uptomorrow! thanks for your help!
Dear Lag,
Appreciate your input.
Information is never perfect. MDS taught us that. So, I appreciate your discretion.
For me the thing here is that ANTIDOLLAR has to end around Monday Tuesday and initial reaction to it by the stocks could be higher move.
I expect this market to go down , perhaps hard after we get the Sell Signal.
Otherwise we just may run if we go down much below our breakeven point.
Good Trading
Dear Chronictown
GENZ definitely has downside moementum that is may not be complete yet. So, puts have a chance of working out.
It could be heading to 64.64 ( Low FAAPoint) or even 60(Low SAAPoint) but trip could take time and options may not last till then.
In a shorter term the momentum may have swung to the upside, but could dissipate quickly if we have no follow up on ysesterdays POP on the upside.
We do have 15minute exaustion Bar on our charts.
MOnday is crucial for the near term direction.

Good morning Boris,
I've just read the last post on blog of Marc Peltier. He thinks, Dow is headed to 19000, in August 2009. Interesting, in period 2002-2003, during market crisis, I read some articles about upcoming bull market that will last until 2009-2010.
I know, you don't expect these numbers in regular environment. You think, real SPX is headed down. So, I would like to know, if we really see these Dow numbers in next 1-2 years, where do you expect then US dollar index. I am asking myself, is this possible without strong depreciation of dollar? Probably yes, if the inflation were global?
Any comments?
Thanks, Ivan
dear Ivan
can you add the link to to this post?
Sharon
Dear Sharon,
the link is on this page, below Grouptation link, MarkPeltier.

Dear Ivan,
To me this very speculative notion OF DOW going to 1800. When you GEt the big pciture today for SPX you will see that 1850 and even 2035 are possible. But Are they probable? Not in my mind, unless DOllar is going to hell. And Gold is 2500 or more. I do not ask absolute questions, unless they are ver close to current values. It make more sense to me to ask the relative values and there. SPX and DOW are both not where they were in 2000 and that will not change for next 10 years or so...

Dear Boris, thanks.

Boris,

Dear Boris
Just wondering,
If dollar goes to hell how exactly the dow will reach 18K. In order to get there we should to see more stock buyers, means a lot of dollars shipped back to the US, means stronger dollars
In my opinion the ordinary American citizen needs his dollars for mortgage, food and gas during the following year and he will not put his money in the stock market, therefore the dollars have to come from foreign rich countries like Russia, the Arab countries and west European.
I think the advantage of the US' exporters (which gain from weak dollar) will gradually decline since China and India are building local cars, jets and comm. industries. Of course it takes several years but the trend has already started. The Paradox is that these countries will need more food and energy and big America can supply this demand, so history repeats itself - the next high-tech is the low-tech.
Since you wrote in this blog that higher oil price hurts China more than it hurts USA, we might see the Chinese bubble exploding soon and this is the big chance for the dollar.
A lot of speculations, all left for us is to wait and see...
Sharon
Dear Sharon,
There is so much money, that needs to be "invested" in Dollars.
Such as pension moneys. Like it or not they come. And that money is mostly captive money for Wall Street to trash.
In any case from 14 to 18 there is only 30% this is very small amount considering that 20% may come from Dollar depreciation. Remembert depreciated dollars come back as "earnings" by USA multinationals. Forget others.
This is the beauty of SOPITALISM they have 2 Trillion DOllars of SS money to trash each Year. Incredible money by any standards.

Is Hyperinflation Possible?

hello dear boris...
You said: In fact the accelerated phase of the DOLLAR advance, I predict starting sometime next 7-10 days will cause the Stocks, Gold, Currencies, OIL to go down.....
Please keep us informed on the dollar status as often as time allows you
xerxes
Hello dear sharon....
there is also a similar and recent piece by J. williams of SGS with the same theme, a hyperinflationary depression...

Happy Mothers Days to all Moms on this site.
Boris,
I am trying to understand what MDS is and the significance of Attraction Points. How are the attraction points tradable?
Example:
1384 1383 1381 1378 $SPX 1390 1391 1393 1396
SPX had OHLC of 1394.9 1394.9 1384.11 1388.28
How does one trade that based on the APs for the day?
Great site by the way. I really like the term "Sopitalism" and think it describes the situation in US perfectly.
Dear PCP,
Attraction points demarkate the zone where the security will , most likely, trade.
It is very hard for a security to go above and below 5th attraction point ( above or below), which is well indicated by the numbers you provide. If you are fortunate to know which direciton market will move ( MDS is great help there) then you will watch market turns around the opposite (MDS indicates lower movement, look for higher Apoitns) located Attraction points, because you are most likely looking at the extreme for the day about to go in the other direction ( MDS direction).
One also needs to a good sence of intraday market turn probabilities and watch the indicatros for that. Candle patterns are the first place to start. A white candle around the low APoint is significant and Dark Candle around the high APoint is significant. So are the 1-2 minute MACD RSI and STOC indicators. For an example of APOINT trading look at the sliding show and pick out the graph that shows the APOINT TRADING Example.
The most important thing about APs though is their confluence within different timeframes and with FIBO retracements.
For example it is extremely lethal for a security to turn around the confluence of daily second AP and intraday 5th AP, which happen to be close for that day.
Even more lethal is for a security to turn around the confluence of daily-intraday-annual APS, like we predicted the demise of SILVER around 21.212... That was a stunning call resulting in almost 40% drop for silver to the levels of 16, which was also estimated after one of the subscribers asked where the low maybe.
We have a document, on how to use Attraction Points we send to subscribers.
Dear PCP , we appreciate your interest. GOod Trading
You can't have a hyperinflationary depression folks...the people talking that book are gold and silver salesmen.
Depression means a lot of debt defaulting because of diminished capacity to service it (income) and significantly fewer loans being made because of falling asset prices.
Do you see how the two cannot coexist? Dismiss that thesis COMPLETELY...you can't have it both ways.
Also, a note on the dollar. The ECU CANNOT sustain their economy with the dollar blowing past the 1.60 EUR/USD level...it would destroy their export business in no time.
Dear D,
I agree, that GOLD bugs will tell you any story. Well, I am not a gold, but I buy ans sell at as My indicators tell me. I do believe we are going to higher inflietion(:-, because that is the only way to save AMERICA at this time. And SCREW the AVERAGE AMERICANS(especially SENIORS) at the same time
Good Trading
Boris,
If debt is defaulting and banks are less willing to lend how do prices get higher?
Constant prices require income to be sustained, right? Similarly, as prices collapse via DEBT deflation then social security would be over-funded as the Treasury will be the LAST borrower to default on interest payments and that is what the Social Security Trust owns. Add in medical breakthroughs for cardiac and cancer and suddenly the situation looks very different.
The trust cannot diversify its existing portfolio away from bonds as it will drive up the cost of future treasury borrowing.
Interest bearing debt creates a burden for money that does not exist (simplified):
day 0 @ 10% interest, interest only payments are made
loan asset = 100 (bank)
deposit liability = 100 (borrower)
Net dollar obligations: 0
after 1 year
loan asset = 100
bank cash reserves = 10
deposit liability = 90
at the end of year 10
loan asset = 100
bank "cash" deposit = 100
deposit liability = 0
What happens to the debt and the "money" in the bank when the borrower has no more money? Does the bank print money so the borrower can payoff the loan?
The answer is no...the bank pursues recourse if there is an asset to be recovered.
What part of this process is inflationary?
Dear D,
Inspite of all the talk about deflation and credit crisis the money supply is groing without any stops. C&I loans growing, because those guys know that the money will be worthless(is already) and they crave for the cheap money as it is now. Later on it will become expensive for them as well, because the inflation would have taken over and the interest rates start running up with it as people become nervous lending cheap.
Now, assumptions you often make is that money does not come from the air. That is not correct, FED has the ability to create money of the thin air and charge you and me for it( how nice racket this business is for Barron RObers at Central banks).
Because of that aibilty to get the money out of the thin air iflation will be a prefered path, till it can no more be done.
Have we reached the place where it is no more possible. I do not think so. One look at USA reserves at foreiegn banks shows that Dollars are still flying outohere...
Good Trading
Dear D,
I must clarify here that for a while, INFLIETION(:-
will look like it is subdued and it flare back up later 2008 into 2011-12, this is just a timing issue.
Good Trading
Dear Boris
I agree that US is walking on thin line. the situation here is nothing like the 2000 crises. The Fed must start to put infation on top otherwise the chaotic situation dervies from collapsing dollar will finish American domination and influence on the free world (yes - debt owners will want thier money back)
I think the democrates will take position soon - Clinton (backuped by her husband) represents by most of americans a suitable leader to deal with the Bush's administarion mess.
Amrica dont need to change its way immediately, she just need to announce she is admiting her situation and going to change her wrong methods. it should be enough for her debt owners.
Sharon
Dear Sharon,
Readers
I do not say that INFLATION is what USA must/should do. I sa what it will do, regardless if it is good or bad for ordinary Americans.
