Now, Dear Boris, Bloomberg has declared the recession has ended in the UK...Geez, only Benji can't mend his charge...Maybe he should learn from the Chinese how it's done :-)

UBS says EURUSD will trade at 1.35 by year's end, up from previous guesstimate of 1,30

xerxes said...

I like the ring of the church name Dear Boris...wonder who suggested it...I'd like to apply for head of the Swiss Guard Dear Boris...Where can I find an app :-)

10 straight losing sticks on 15 minute gold .... Dear Boris .... These calls aren't humanly possible .... Is your real name 'Daniel' from the eponymous book or 'Hal' from the flick 2001? :-)

boris said...

Dear Xerxes,
I did not know if you were OK, with your name tied with Church.

(:-

Ok, I gave you credit for coming up with the name suggestion!

Good Trading Dear Xerxes

And About Swiss, do you think Swissies from UBS know something?

xerxes said...

China says it will grow 10% next year Dear Boris...When the RMB starts to float, we'll have a lot of fun :-)

xerxes said...

Yup, UBS knows that all those billions in evaded tax dollars will have to return to the USA so those clients will need to unwind their antidollar bets, first, Dear Boris :-) If not that then maybe they lurk around here :-)

It's amazing how they have so thoroughly debauched the medium of exchange...I wish I could use euros for every transaction, inside the USA, so I don't need to hold 'vanishing value paper' Dear Boris

Xerxes,

Euro is also a vanishing value paper too. Just at a different rate. Also have you ever thought that it is the ROW that is really supporting the bailout of the US by continuing to keep their currencies relatively strong? Their exporting must be hurting but maybe the thinking is that it is still better than beggar thy neighbor all out war? Who knows but everything moves in cycle Xerxes. It appears that ROW is on the upswing while US is on the downswing. There is not much lower to go in my opinion so those on the crest need to be careful.

A crashing USDJPY and losing EURJPY & AUDJPY can't crush equities Dear Boris

xerxes said...

Dear Mike...A few months ago, many were saying the same thing, that the buck was ready to rebound...Remember the guy DCX? Yes, there are cycles but Dear Boris says that the USDX will get to 40 before the cycle ends...But I didn't think we'd reach 40 by November :-)

70 billion in treasuries this week on the block....

Has the USDX crossed the rubicon here Dear Boris as it sports a 6 handle

boris said...

At XX.81 your should be out without much loss at all, if you can not afford farther stop.
This can not hurt you anyway, but could teach you a valuable lesson.
Instead of agonizing over a possibly bad position you are out , clear your head and start new day , new position etc...

I would not be writing the things above, If I knew what capital sizes each one of you can master.

The boyz in the market are now trying to intimidate, exactly , those kind of people with a small capital.

Such is market, nothing can be done.

Market is nothing but a fear/greed play

If you are still in it,
make 3 cents from breakeven the maximum loss for you.

Again, this would be instructional, if it can not make money and will be instructional and profitable if it can go.

The USD crossed my line in the sand some time ago, so my long USD exposure has been minimized and I took my losses with honor.
I remain in the money with my GBP short basket against all currencies, however. I've mentioned elsewhere that for over a year and a half I perpetually short Brutish as a hobby with about 1-2% of my risk capital.
I have had 10% capital allocated to Gold for 3.5 years now, and my GDX long term calls from early 2009 have done mighty well, thank you very much!

I have a mining portfolio that I have built up this year and the dollar can crash all it wants, xerxes!

Having said all that, my vote for P.O.S. currency is still the EURO! (Let's leave Brutish out of this!)

If you have been around long enough or researched enough you will know that ever since Bretton Woods people have been talking up Precious Metals and the downfall of the Dollar. There is a whole industry dedicated to such "intellectual" pursuits. My fundamental knowledge and research precludes me from taking the permabear USD stance very seriously. If the issue is debt, the US is far far far from situations European states find themselves in, saddled with state and toxic debts, public and private. I'm not here to enter a discussion of it, and neither am I here to discuss the merits of any fiat currency. Just don't tell me the Dollar is somehow the worst, because this is the International Reserve Currency we are talking about!

I don't know what you see, but the USD is still breakeven year to year or better! But I don't care because my equity asset allocation serves as a natural hedge to a dollar collapse via miners.

It's one thing to have a view, and totally another to "play" with your money. But I'm 100% sure Boris has already inculcated that in you. I will bet on it, in fact!

best

We argued on these pages, before people knew what the BLOG means?

But remained friends.
That is the way I like it.

Internet is great for making people friends!

And Yes, I hear you, I think you hit on the nail, when you said...

It is one thing to have a view and another to mortgage house to support that view(:- kidding , of course, you said it much nicer

Ok, if you are in both of the positions or one of the ones recomeded today, please keep you stops at or near breakeven now.
I do not want you to give even coffee money to the markets.

Just ask one thing, Please No actual stop in.

Boris, My Middle Eastern blood, even I must admit, makes me prone to overt emotion! I'm always goint to sound that way, cannot help it.
Again I will tell other readers to listen to you always, and that this blog as early as August or September 2006 helped put what I hope are the FINISHING TOUCHES on my life as a speculator.
We have disagreed, from my side pretty badly, about some big things but I always know those things are never worth it and beyond out control anyway.

good luck to you and your subscribers always!

I was so busy being host, It skipped my mind. Besides , I guess i assumed that if the other recommendation worked out and even not, people knew where my mind was on this subject, by recommending what I recommended.

But I must hand it to you. You are much more patient observer than I am, even as I maybe technically more proficient, AS DXB says, my meadle eastern origns ( Jews migrated to georgia 9 th centurey before BC(:- ) do not make me as good of a trader as I can be.

If I only had your mental powers, with my mental knowlege, I could be the best trader ever born. But hey(:- I am Ok.
